Recessive TTN mutations: Escobar syndrome, arthrogryposis, and congenital heart defect in Brazilian patients
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: The TTN gene is related to a broad phenotype spectrum including tibial muscular dystrophy, hereditary myopathy with respiratory failure, limb girdle dystrophy 2J and dilated or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In 2014, Chauveau et al, described phenotypes cardiac septal defects, left ventricular non-compaction, Emery-Dreifuss arthrogryposis. 2020, Savarese showed most of patients biallelic mutations presented as congenital myopathy.

Multiple pterygium syndrome (MPS) is a syndrome that is characterized abnormal face, short length and skin pterygiums on some body legions (servical, antecubital, popliteal, interdigital and on neck). It is also called as Pterygium Colli syndrome, Escobar syndrome or Pterygium syndrome. Escobar (multyple pterygium) syndrome is a rare syndrome. Intrauterin growth reterdation, abnormal face, wide...
متن کاملRecessive truncating titin gene, TTN, mutations presenting as centronuclear myopathy.
OBJECTIVE To identify causative genes for centronuclear myopathies (CNM), a heterogeneous group of rare inherited muscle disorders that often present in infancy or early life with weakness and hypotonia, using next-generation sequencing of whole exomes and genomes. METHODS Whole-exome or -genome sequencing was performed in a cohort of 29 unrelated patients with clinicopathologic diagnoses of ...

We identified a two-branch consanguineous family in which four affected members (three females and one male) presented with constitutive growth delay, severe psychomotor retardation, microcephaly, cerebellar hypoplasia, and second-degree heart block. They also shared distinct facial features and similar appearance of their hands and feet. Childhood-onset insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus deve...

This is the case of a male newborn whose mother during pregnancy was treated with chloropromazine, topiramate and diazepam, but without any other relevant family history, especially related with congenital malformation. At 34 weeks of gestation, the fetus was diagnosed with transposition of the great arteries (TGA). He born at 37 weeks of gestation, his birth weight was 3,229g and Apgar score 1...
متن کاملCardiac homeobox gene NKX2-5 mutations and congenital heart disease: associations with atrial septal defect and hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
OBJECTIVES We sought to examine the importance of mutations in the cardiac transcription factor gene NKX2-5 in patients with an atrial septal defect (ASD), patent foramen ovale (PFO), or hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). BACKGROUND Mutations in NKX2-5 have been found in families showing secundum ASD and atrioventricular (AV) conduction block and in some individuals with tetralogy of Fal...
